JAMMU: Police on Wednesday nabbed 11 drug peddlers, addicts in separate operations here.

As per the details, R S Pura police during a Naka in the area intercepted a man and during frisking recovered heroin from his possession. The accused identified as Parminder Singh, resident of Chouhala was nabbed and a case under relevant sections of law was registered against him.   

Nagrota police also arrested a drug peddler and recovered 2 Kg Charas from his possession.

Meanwhile,  taking stringent action against drug abuse, a special exercise was conducted by SDPO City East Dy SP Vikram Kumar on the directions of SSP Jammu. SHO Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu/ Bahu Fort and In-Charge Police Post Bathindi/Narwal were also accompanied by the SDPO City East in carrying out special exercise. 

Subsequently, nine suspected drug addicts were booked. Special focus was given on locations where outsiders have been settled. Aim of this exercise was to make the people aware against the drug menace and exhort their co-operation in curbing this evil from the society.
