JAMMU: Amid lockdown in India to contain COVID-19, the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) led by Bharat Choudhary along with leaders of Muslim United Forum (MUF) on Tuesday distributed ration and dry food packets among needy and weaker sections at Talab Khatikan.

Acting on the directions of Apni Party President, Altaf Bukhari, Bharat Choudhary distributed ration among needy families through MUF Chairman Sheikh Zahoor Ahmed and President Mubarkh Khan assisted by activists at different areas falling in Talab Khatikan, who were unable to earn livelihood due to ongoing lockdown.

The party workers also distributed mustard oil bottles and other needy items among weaker families to ensure that no resident in Jammu-East constituency is deprived of essential commodities as the lockdown has been imposed as a preventive measure to stop spread of coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

Bharat Choudhary urged locals to stay indoors and cooperate with efforts of government and J&K Police, who are trying their best to stop spread of the pandemic. He further added that leadership of newly formed Apni Party is committed to resolve all issues faced by people of J&K pertaining to essential commodities and other needs.
