JAMMU: The Chairman and Managing Director J&K Bank, Rajesh Kumar Chhibber has said that all help would be provided to entrepreneurs including industries, tourism and other sectors, which are worst sufferers due to coronavirus outbreak. It was stated by the President, Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra and Chairman Jammu Region Chapter of PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Rakesh Wazir in a press note issued on Wednesday, after a meeting with CMD J&K Bank, Rajesh Kumar Chhibber.
Wazir, during discussions, besides complimenting role of J&K Bank in providing best facilities to the people in this difficult time of lockdown, has also drawn CMD’s attention towards the fact that J&K Bank/Reserve Bank of India gave three months moratorium for all term loans in light of COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent lockdown, but stated that there is great apprehension among entrepreneurs, whose units are under-construction and are availing loans, but their installments have not started yet, because guidelines were not clear whether their moratorium period will also increase accordingly by these order/s or not.
In view of complete lockdown, Wazir requested that the moratorium period of the under-construction units should also be increased accordingly and if possible, should be increased by more than three months. He further emphasized that if lockdown is increased by the Government, the exemption of three months should be also increased further for all units.
Chhibber listened to Wazir patiently and assured sympathetic consideration to the highlighted issues.
