SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has sought posting of SRO-202 lectures, presently posted in UT Ladakh in UT of J&K, citing completion of their tenure as the reason.
The lecturers have also approached Congress President with a request of their immediate shifting from Leh in view of COVID-19 threat. The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G A Mir urged upon the Lt Governor J&K to look into the grievances of SRO-202 lecturers posted in Leh besides directing the concerned authorities to start process of their posting in J&K, as they have already completed their tenure in UT of Ladakh.
Mir further said that out of 1,059 lecturers, only 60 lecturers from J&K are still posted in Leh despite having completed their tenure. With closure of markets in Leh, as reported due to COVID-19 threat, the lecturers from J&K are facing huge difficulties, he added.
Describing the demand of lecturers as genuine, Mir sought their posting in J&K, as 74 Masters from Ladakh have recently been promoted as I/c lecturers, who can perform duties at different places in Ladakh, he added, demanding immediate posting of remaining 60 lecturers in J&K.
