JAMMU: Jagat Prakash Nadda, BJP National President, along with National General Secretaries Ram Madhav and Dr Anil Jain interacted with BJP leaders from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Puducherry, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu in a meeting, through video-conference, to review ground situation amid corona lockdown.
J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina and General Secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul apprised Nadda of prevalent situation in J&K UT due to COVID-19 spread as well as various measures to counter its spread.
Nadda said that in the hour of crisis, all BJP activists are working wholeheartedly in the service of needy people. Their strength, patience, hard work and vitality are our strengths in fight against corona and we must continue to fight with corona until we defeat it, said Nadda, adding, “We have to make usage of masks a mass campaign, promote habit of cleanliness besides spreading awareness among people about every aspect of prevention from corona.”
The National President said that we must encourage everyone to follow the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to turn off lights today at 9 pm and flash candles, torches and mobile flashlights for 9 minutes to show our courage and solidarity against darkness of corona. He said that all of us have to donate extensively towards ‘PM Cares Fund’ so that fight against corona is not weakened.
Raina and Kaul apprised the National President that around 40,000 party workers have ensured relief supplies to more than 2 lakh local as well non-local needy persons in J&K. He said that BJP leaders are also cooperating with local administration in the crucial hour. He told that party is encouraging workers to ensure mass awareness, distribution of dry ration, holding community kitchens, besides mask & medicine distribution etc to needy persons.
In respect of Ladakh, the reporting was done by Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor Gyal P Wangyal, Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh Tsering Sangdup and Dorjay Angchuk.
J&K BJP Vice-President Sofi Yusuf from Kashmir, Jammu Rural District President Rajinder Singh Chib, Udhampur District President Puran Chand and Srinagar District President Ashok Bhat were also present on the occasion.
Former Dy CM Kavinder Gupta, J&K BJP Vice-Presidents Yudhvir Sethi, Shakti Parihar, Anuradha Singh Charak & Aseem Gupta, General Secretaries Vibodh Gupta & Dr D K Manyal, Secretaries Arvind Gupta & Veenu Khanna, Ajay Pargal, Vikram Randhawa, Dr Pardeep Mahotra, Jaidev Rajwal, Vinay Gupta, Munish Khajuria and others also attended the video conference.
