UDHAMPUR: Public is not at ease after J&K State declaring Jammu Kashmir as Union Territory, said Senior Congress leader and former District Youth Congress president Sumeet Magotra. While addressing a press conference here at Udhampur, Magotra said that Union Govt has increased 9 per cent registration fee of the total cost of new vehicle the first ZAZIA (Tax) to the people of the State and now Govt has increased Rs. 5/ litre on Petrol and Rs. 1.5/litre on Diesel as surcharge from today where as the prices on crude oil on international level are decreasing day by day. Congress leader further said that the people of J&K on the one hand facing threat of communal forces and on the other hand COVID-19 (Corona Virus) has badly damaged the business of small traders. Magotra disclosed that in whole country, all the UT status cities and States are exempted from toll taxes of vehicles except J&K UT which is unfortunate. “JK Unit of BJP is mum over this issue even they don’t dare to raise their voice with their bosses,” he said. Magotra further disclosed that now Govt is going to privatize the electricity and the public have to prepare themselves for increased and revised electricity bill. He also expressed that now people have to face inconvenience to get domicile certificate by withdrawing their State Subjects.
