SRINAGAR: Continuing its welfare measures, Police Headquarters has been making efforts for assisting retired Policemen, SPOs and NoKs of deceased Police personnel in their hard times.
As a part of the welfare measure, DGP Dilbag Singh granted financial assistance/ medical relief of over Rs 13 lakh in favour of 53 personnel including retired Policemen, SPOs and NoKs of deceased police personnel to compensate expenses in connection with self-treatment, treatment of their dependents or marriage of wards. The financial assistance/ welfare relief has been granted vide PHQ orders no 3300 and 3301 of 2019.
DGP Dilbag Singh has sanctioned welfare relief of Rs 5,10,000 in favour of 31 retired Police/NoKs of Police personnel to compensate unavoidable expenses for self-treatment and treatment of their dependents. An amount of Rs 4.25 lakh has been provided for self treatment to 20 retired police personnel for self treatment or treatment of dependents, suffering from life threatening diseases. Similarly, Rs 85,000 has been sanctioned in favour of 5 NoKs of deceased Police personnel to assist them in the hour of need.
The relief amount of Rs 95,000 has been sanctioned in favour of six retired policemen for marriage of wards to cater their urgent needs. The amount has been sanctioned out of the Retired Policemen Welfare Fund.
Meanwhile, under PHQ order no 3300 of 2019, Rs 8,07,084 as financial assistance/ medical relief has been sanctioned in favour of 22 SPOs posted at different districts viz Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam, Doda, Reasi, Kulgam, Anantnag, Shopian, Ganderbal and Kupwara out of Police Pariwar Fund and SPOs Contributory Fund. The assistance in favour of the SPOs has been sanctioned at different rates to pay expenses in connection with self-treatment or treatment of their dependents.
Police Headquarters has been sanctioning financial assistance/ welfare relief, loan, rewards and scholarships under different heads as welfare measure for retired Policemen, NoKs of deceased police personnel, serving and SPOs. This year, till date, over Rs 27 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of retired Police personnel and over Rs 13 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of SPOs of J&K Police.
