JAMMU: The protest launched by the Female Multipurpose Health Workers Association on Monday entered day 36 here seeking clearance of dues pending since March 2018.
The strike was observed at Sunderbani, Rajouri, Reasi, Banihal, Ramban, Kishtwar, Doda, Bani, Basohli, Padder and Kathua. The Association has already submitted charter of demands to Divisional Commissioner.
The association member appealed to the Government of India and Department of Health and Family Welfare for resolving their issues at the earliest.
The female multipurpose health workers were demanding delinking of CSS salary from the funding sources (Corpus-delinking), release pending salary since March, 2018, job functions of FMPHWs be fixed at par with other working categories of health sector, upgradation of the post of FMPHW on the analogy of Pharmacists, Lab Techs, X-Ray Technicians, Dental Technicians and Ophthalmic Technician, creation of posts of LHVs in new PHCs; seniority list of FMPHWs be published in the official website of the Health Department for bringing transparency in promotions, 50 per cent quota in favour of trained LHVs at par with MMPHSs promoted as health educators and amendment of SRO 20.
The association leaders requested the Governor to address demands of the employees in time bound manner to avoid the unwanted agitation. Among those who were present include Neelam Kumari, Surya Akhter, Sapna Gupta General Secretary, Mamta Devi, Sunita Devi, Jagjeet Kour, Nirmal Kour, Varinder Kour, Jagbir Kour, Manjeet Kour, Pooja Devi, Shashi Bala, Kamlesh, Jeevan Jyoti, Anchal Devi, Kamla Devi, Soma Devi, Pushpa Devi, Rani and Shaffket Hussain, Kamal Jit Sawhney, Ch Jarnal Singh, Madan Lal and Choudhary Subash.
