AKHNOOR: GDC Akhnoor celebrated Gandhi’s Jayanti by organising a function in the college seminar Hall. The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Principal Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma with lightening of ceremonial lamp. On this occasion NCC and NSS students sang patriotic song, recited poems and speeches on Gandhian Philosophy. Earlier the proceeding of the program by started by the NSS student Rashmi Singh and welcome address was presented by Prof. Mamta Sharma. The whole event was organised by NCC and NSS volunteers under the guidance of Prof. Kuldeep Kumar , ANO NCC Boys wing ,Prof Mamta Sharma HOD, Department of Sanskrit and Prof. Sunil Kumar. The vote of thanks was read by Prof. Dawarka Nath, Asstt. Professor, Computer Application.
THANNAMANDI: Birth Anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhiji culminated at Govt. Degree College Thannamandi with a valedictory function. Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Shakeel Ahmed Raina presided over the function, while Bashir Ahmed Shawl, District Chairman, Gandhian Global Family was Chief Guest.
Prizes were also awarded to winners of different activities during last four days celebrations. An Inter institution debate competition was also conducted on “Relevance of Gandhian Values in Modern Era” by NSS Unit of the College in collaboration with 38 RR Thannamandi on 01-10-2018.
The programme began with recitation of few verses of Holy Quran by Amir Hamza. Prof. Saleem Ayaz Rather gave the welcome address, while vote of thanks was given by Dr. Khalid Rayaz. The programme was compared by Prof. Rizwan Khan.
UDHAMPUR: Swachchta Pakhwada concluded at Hr. Sec. School Jaganoo with the celebration of Gandhi’s Birthday. Tributes were also paid to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Speaking on the occasion Principal Satya Devi threw light on the life of Gandhi and Shastri . Associate NCC Officer Narinder Raina, Mushtak Ahmed , Hem Raj and other staff members were present in the function.
To commemorate Gandhi Jayanti, a programme was organised by Department of Information and Public Relations in collaboration with Social Welfare Department at Bal Ashram/ Nari Niketan of District Udhampur here today.
District Development Commissioner Udhampur Ravinder Kumar was the Chief Guest on the occasion while District Social Welfare Officer, Sana Khan, DIO Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia were also present.
Meanwhile, NSS units of Govt. Degree College Udhampur celebrated the 149th Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and birth anniversary of former Prime Minster Lal Bhadur Shastri. On this occasion Principal of the College Dr. Udhey Bhanu, Prof. Romesh Kr. Atri, HoD Botany, Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra, HoD Physics, Dr. Anita Sharama and Prof. Samosh Kumar (NSS Programme Officers) and NSS volunteers paid floral tributes to the great leaders. Later on the NSS volunteers cleaned the College Vatika and campus.
Meanwhile, NSS and NCC Units of Govt. College for Women Udhampur organised a symposium on the topic ‘Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy’ on the valedictory day of ‘Swachhta hi Sewa’ programme. The programme began with the formal welcome address of Prof. Swarna Bhougal, NSS Programme Officer. In all 11 NSS and NCC volunteers and Cadets participated in the programme. Akriti Sharma, Harsirjan Kaur and Shruti stood first, second and third respectively.
Principal Dr. Chander Shekhar in his speech focused on the importance of Gandhian Principles like Truth and Non-Voilence in the present scenario. Dr. Usha Sharma, Dr. Shaveta Sharma, Dr. Rabia Iqbal Mir were the jury member of the programme. Prof. Sumita Rao, Prof. Poonam Rajput, Prof. Sanjay Kumar, Prof. Swarna Bhougal were amongst the staff members present on the occasion. Certificates were distributed among the NSS & NCC volunteers and cadets who participated in Swachhta hi Sewa programme. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof. Poonam Rajput NCC Officer.
Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti (MUSS) celebrated Gandhi Jyanti by launching a cleanliness drive in Udhampur under the supervision of Mahatma Samta Bai ji incharge Maa Rajarajeshwari Ashram Udhampur.
Cleanliness drive carried out from D N Palace to Venus Chowk. After cleanliness drive a Satsang programme was held in Maa Rajarajeshwari Ashram where in learned Saints of Satgurudev Shri Satpal ji Maharaj Mahatma Samta Bai ji and Mahatma Anurodh Bai ji delivered their spiritual discourses.
While celebrating birth anniversary of Lal Bhadur Shastri, LVD President Vikram Slathia recalled the dedicated services of Shastri towards nation. LVD also recalled contribution of Mahatma Gandhi. ARNIA: High Light Higher Secondary School Arnia organised a cleanliness campaign. The main aim of this campaign is to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits. ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ is a cleanliness campaign run by government of India initiated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In view of this campaign students among staff members actively participated in this campaign.
BHADARWAH: To celebrate 149th Birth Anniversary of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, students and staff of Bhadarwah Campus organised cleanliness drive and took out an awareness rally under ‘Swacchta Hi Seva’ on Tuesday.
The programme was organized under the guidance and supervision of Rector Prof G.M.Bhat.
Later, a seminar was also organized in Lal Ded Auditorium of the campus, in which students spoke on the life style and teachings of Gandhi.
Welcome address was presented by Neetu Parihar HoD School of Education, while as vote of thanks was presented by Reenu Devi, Lecturer School of Education.
ERO Arif Haleem Khateeb, Principal Little Angel School, Nand Pal were also present.
REASI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) concluded Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign at Reasi on Gandhi Jayanti. All the KVK officials, large number of farmers, farm women, school children and school teachers actively participated in the campaign. The massive cleanliness derive was organised under the guidance and supervision of Associate Director Extension (ADE) and Incharge of KVKs of SKUAST-J, Dr. R.K. Arora. Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr. Banarsi Lal, Sarpanchs, Panchs, village teachers, Dr. Mandeep Singh Azad, Dr. Sanjay Kaushal, Dr. Suja Nabi Qureshi, Dr. Arvinder Kumar, Jagdish Kumar, Manohar Lal, Sanjay Kumar, Md. KATRA: On 149th Birth Anniversary of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, a ten-day long Swacch Bharat Mission, culminated and completed. The event was organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. Dr. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU and Sumanta S. Sharma, NSS Faculty Coordinator spoke on the occasion.
RAJOURI: National Public Hr. Secondary School, Rajouri held a programme to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and of the freedom fighter, second Prime Minister of the nation Lal Bahadur Shastri .
During the programme social Activist Vikrant Sharma acted as the Chief resource person while District Youth Coordinator NYK Reyaz Mir also interacted with the students. Welcome address was delivered by Kanav Badyal while Rakesh Sharma conducted the proceedings of the programme.
SAMBA: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, District Police Samba participated in nationwide campaign ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ at Samba.
During the campaign period, a cleanliness drive in all the Police establishments of District Samba Viz; DPO Samba, DPL Samba, Sub-Divisional Offices, all the Police Stations and Police Posts/ Border Police Posts were carried out under the supervision of concerned jurisdictional officers and under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba.
Pertinently to mention here that an exhaustive programme was formulated by District Police Samba for the conduct of extensive sanitation drive in and around the Sub-ordinate units during the campaign period under the direct supervision of Faisal Qureshi, Addl. SP Samba.
Meanwhile, Khadi and Village Industries Board celebrated Gandhi Jyanti its office at District Nandani Hills Complex Samba in which people of all walks participated along with social group Youth For Society. Paramjeet Singh District officer KVIB Samba, Rahul Sambyal Chairman Youth for Society were the resource persons while Surjeet Singh, Satish Dutta and Surinder Pal Sharma were also present.
KISHTWAR: A function was held at MLA Inderwal’s residence at Kishtwar to celebrate the 149th Birth Anniversary of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bhadur Shastri. The function was organised by District Congress Committee Kishtwar and attended by senior leaders of PCC, Youth Congress, Seva Dal, District Congress Committee, Block Congress Committees and others.
Ghulam Mohammad Saroori Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal presided over the function.
Meanwhile, Department of Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) Kishtwar celebrated Gandhi Jayanti. The function was presided over by District Officer KVIB Kishtwar Mohd Iqbal Butt.
KATHUA: Govt Model HSS Billawar observed ‘National Nai Talim Week in connection with Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary. Various activities (step by step on day to day basis) were conducted as per the schedule provided by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education MGNCRE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt of India.
Principal Ganesh Dutt Sharma said ‘Nai Talim’ or basic education is a principle promoted by Mahatma Gandhi which states that knowledge and work are not separate.
Event coordinator Ravinder Singh (lecturer in Edu), Jagdish Singh(Sr lecturer in physics), Sushil Kumar, Pritam Singh ( Tr phy.edu), Roopali Chopra (lecturer) Razia (Vocational Tr Healthcare) and Ishwar Verma (lecturer in comm) were the resource person during the week long celebrations.
Meanwhile, SPS Police Training School Kathua conducted Swachh Bharat Abhiyan also paid tributes to Father of the Nation and cleaned the whole premises of this institute.
Ranjit Kanwar,SSP Principal PTS Kathua briefed the staff and trainees that the unclean surroundings are breeding grounds for illness and diseases.
Meanwhile, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kathua in collaboration with Drub Singh Memorial Youth Club, Jarai organised a function to pay rich tributes to Father of Nation.
On the occasion a symposium on the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi was organised and various students expressed their view on the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and relevance in present scenario.
Skit and culture programme on dissemination of message on Swachatta was presented by the students of Thousand Candles Modern School, Jarai. Som Datt Zard, DTC, NYK, Aradhana Andotra Ex Sarpanch Jarai and Babu Ram Ex Sarpanch also address the gathering and highlight the teaching of Mahatma Gandhi.
Shah Din (BLW) Kewal Singh, Jaan Mohd. Archana Principal, Sudakar Singh, President Youth Club, Sunil Singh prominent person were present.
RAMBAN: District Police Ramban on the directions of SSP RambanAnita Sharma, conducted sanitation drive under Swachhta Hi Sewa that aims to clean up the lanes, drains, streets, roads and infrastructure of cities, town’s and rural areas. The sanitation drive got conducted almost in the whole district in which around 50- 60 police personnel including women police officials and some officials of municipal committee Ramban also participated. Adll SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar, DySP HQ Ramban Asgar Malik, SHO Ramban Insp Vijay kotwal and EO Municipal Committee Ramban were also participated.
POONCH: District Development Commissioner Rahul Yadav organised a cleanliness drive at Pir ki Gali under Swachhata hi Sewa campaign. Students from HSS Surankote, HSS Bafliaz and GDC Surankote participated in the cleanliness drive. BDO’s, DPO’s of Surankote and Bafliaz also participated besides other officials of allied departments.
A total of 200 bags of garbage was collected and loaded in tractors.
