NOWSHERA: With a motive to engage the student community constructively amid lockdown, Dept. of Botany, GDC Nowshera organized an online quiz competition on Monday. The quiz was based on multiple choice questions related to the topic “Plant Anatomy and Embryology”.
The quiz was organized by Dr. Shagun Bali, Lecturer Botany under the supervision of Prof. Pooja Devi, Head of department, Botany and the able guidance of Dr. Surinder Kumar, Principal GDC Nowshera. A total of 384 participants from 45 different institutions across the country participated in the event. Of these, 298 respondents (77%) secured more than 50% marks.
The quiz competition witnessed a remarkable enthusiasm amongst the students of different institutions. This brainstorming event will be helpful for the students to evaluate their knowledge of Plant Sciences, to improve their thinking/mental skills and preparation for the future competitive examinations.
The enthusiasm shown by the student community provides incentives for similar competitions to be organized especially during the lockdown period.
At the end of the quiz, there was special prayer from the Principal, Dr. Surinder Kumar for speedy recovery of covid-19 patients and the organizers urged the participants to follow the precautionary and preventive measures against coronavirus.
