UDHAMPUR: Jammu and Kashmir RET Teachers Forum held its monthly meeting at Udhampur under the chairmanship of its Senior Vice Chairman Bhupinder Singh which was attended by large number of teachers from all eleven Zones of District Udhampur . After discussion in the meeting on the issues of teaching community in general and particularly on the issues of Grade II, Grade IIl and left out RRets ,Teachers Present in the meeting threatened concern authorities to stop undue harassment with teaching community otherwise they will adapt agitation path and authorities Will be responsible for that. While Speaking on the occasion, Senior Vice Chairman of the Forum Bhupinder Singh said that Education Department is again trying to harass the Grade II and Grade IIl Teachers on the name of Impact training, even department already started the process of Bed as well as Ded for these graduate and undergraduate teachers than Why only Impact training for grade II and grade IIl teachers only? all this is undue harassment to Particular section of teaching community and even it is also important to mention here that Grade II and Grade IIl Teachers are working in education department for last Seventeen years and Joined education department with the thinking to educate the Children in far-flung areas of Jammu and Kashmir with very less Salary Rs1500/Per month ,Singh said.
Singh also said that after Conversion in Grade II and Grade IIl Teachers ,all these teachers lose their status of Rets and as good as General Line teachers but till Chief Education officers of Jammu division as well as Kashmir division not frame a Transfer Policy of these teachers whose are already in State budget. Even CEOs and ZEOs attached /deployed So many Grade II and grade IIl Teachers in other Schools and also depute these teachers in other duties like BLO, Census duty, any kind of Survey, election duty etc ,but not fall in the transfer Policy of education department. Hundreds of female Grade II and Grade IIl Teachers were appointed in their Concern Villages as Ret but after marriage in other Villages, Blocks, Tehsils and even in District these female teachers are still Waiting for their transfers on marriage grounds and education department have no Transfer policy in favour of these female Grade II and grade IIl teachers. Singh also said that Higher authorities of education department must Rationlise the teaching staff with the Teacher-Student ratio as it is need of time to provide better quality education in far-flung areas particularly. So many Primary and Middle Schools were upgraded to Middle and High Schools respectively but still Maximum posts of Teachers /Masters are lying Vacant in these upgraded Middle and High Schools particularly in rural areas as a result Students of these schools are suffering badly and concern authorities are not serious to fill these posts, singh added.
Singh also appealed Director School Education Jammu and Director School Education Kashmir to regularise the Services of all left out Rets and Convert them to Grade II and Grade IIl teachers within days and also release the Pending Salary arreras of Grade ll and Grade IIl Teachers.
