JAMMU: Intensifying anti-drug campaign, the Chief Patron, Dogra Kranti Dal (DKD) and former MLA, Balwant Singh Mankotia on Monday said that DKD is going to organise 14th Marathon Run for spreading awareness against drugs on September 17, coinciding with PM Narendra Modi’s birthday at Jammu. He also extended full support to PM’s Fit India Movement.
Briefing media persons here, Mankotia said that Dogra Kranti Dal (NGO) is continuously as well as actively working on ground against drugs and imbibing a spirit of healthy and fit living style among youngsters. In this regard, 12 Marathons have already been organised during last one and half year in Udhampur district and Jammu province. He further disclosed that the marathon would commence from Balidan Stambh at 6:00 AM and after passing through Bikram Chowk, Jewel Chowk, Kachi Chawni, Secretariat Road and Panjtirthi, would conclude at Mubarak Mandi.
Expressing concern over spread of Chitta named drug at a fast rate during past three years, due to which many youngsters have lost their lives, Mankotia said that it is a conspiracy of neighbouring country Pakistan to make our youth drug-addict and demanded strict action against drug peddlers. Lauding Fit India Movement at national level, Mankotia said that such type of activities should be held periodically for indulging youth in positive and nation-building activities.
DKD Jammu District President, Kailash Mohan and Vice President, Anil Rakwal were also present on the occasion.
