JAMMU: In view of prevailing situation arisen due to outbreak of COVID-19, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Councillor Surinder Sharma distributed ration among 175 needy and downtrodden families in Janipur area. The ration was distributed at Project School Janipur in a systematic manner maintaining proper social distancing and guidelines of Government.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that various other locations shall also be covered in future for distribution of ration among needy persons on routine basis.
Later, he along with Dr Susheel Sharma, Municipal Veterinary Officer JMC fed stray animals as they were not getting food due to lockdown.
Mayor appealed to all the social organisations as well as eminent citizens of Jammu, to come forward for the noble cause to provide food and other essential commodities like medicines, masks, sanitizers, etc to needy, poor and daily-wagers residing in their surroundings during the tough time.
Vicky Manhas, Pardeep Sharma and Rajinder Abrol besides other eminent citizens of Janipur area were also present on the occasion.
