JAMMU: Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta conducted an extensive tour of Ward nos 33 and 30 and started several development works on Tuesday.
Mayor started renovation as well as construction work of Nallah from Shamshan Ghat (Shanti Ghat) near Women Polytechnic College Shiv Nagar up to AG Office, as present walls as well as bed of Nallah was damaged at various spots. The construction work will be carried out UEED at an estimated cost of Rs 1.65 lakh.
Surinder Choudhary, Councilor of Ward No 29, Munish Khajuria, Keshav Chopra, Mandal President and XEn UEED Ashwani Seth were also present on the occasion.
Mayor directed the engineers of UEED to complete the work within the stipulated time period and with quality material, well before rainy season so that residents of Shakti Nagar, Gurah Bakshi Nagar and other adjoining areas may not suffer any more.
Later, Mayor also visited Patel Nagar, Talab Tillo and its adjoining localities under Ward No 30 along with Sonika Sharma and Surinder Chowdhary, Councilors of Ward Nos 30 and 29 respectively and started much awaited work for connecting pipes of kitchens / bathrooms of individual households with main sewerage network.
Munish Khajuria, Keshav Chopra, Ayodhya Gupta, Veena Gupta, Subash, senior BJP leaders and Sanjeev Sharma from Ward No 30 were also present on the occasion.
