JAMMU: Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta on Thursday conducted tour of Municipal Transport Workshop at Prem Nagar here and took stock of the various departmental activities.
Accompanied with Gulam Rasool Executive Engineer of Division-I, Harvinder Singh AEE (Mech), Dharamveer Singh AE (Mech) of JMC, Mayor went round the whole complex and observed that the workshop needs proper face lifting for its better and effective functioning.
He directed the concerned Executive Engineer (Civil) to renovate the whole complex properly, install new floor tiles, repair the bathrooms, etc.
Mayor was apprised by the concerned mechanical engineers that a new sanitization & decontamination machine has been fabricated by the team at this workshop especially for fumigation and sanitization at Jammu Airport as well as Jammu Railway station keeping in view the arrival of large number of passengers from other parts of India.
Mayor also checked the new tyre puncture unit at the workshop which has been made fully functional by the sincere efforts of mechanical engineers of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
