JAMMU: MIER Cricket Academy defeated Lakshya Cricket Academy Udhampur by 54 runs and entered the semifinals of the under-16 Pulwama Martyrs Cricket Competition being organised by Trikuta Cricket Academy in the memory of Pulwama martyrs at Railway Ground, here on Tuesday.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, MIER Cricket Academy set the target of 209, courtesy brilliant 105 runs knock of Snoop. Aryan also played well and added 30 runs to the total. For Lakshya Academy, Nikhil and Rahul grabbed three wickets each.
In reply, Lakshya Academy was bundled out on 154 runs. Nikhil was the top scorer with 43 runs while Raghav made 17.
For MIER, Karthik claimed three wickets while Kanhaiya and Snoop took two each.
For the match winning century and two wickets, Snoop was declared as the Man of the Match who was presented a bat by the Chief Guest, Parvinder Singh, Assistant Commissioner Provident Fund Jammu. DySP Pawan Gupta was Guest of Honour in today’s match. The tournament is being organised under the supervision of Trikuta Cricket Academy Coach Balbir Singh.
