JAMMU: Post Graduate Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu, Jammu organised 4th Kshemendra Samsroha on ‘Kashmiri Acharya Kshemendra Rachit Bharatmanjari ki Upayogita evam Samichinta’ here on Sunday.
Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu congratulated the Department of Sanskrit for holding the seminar and said that such seminars should be organised from time to time.
In his keynote address, Padamshri Prof Abhiraj Rajendra Mishra claimed that Bharatmanjari written by Kashmiri Acharya Kshemendra is a wonderful and ultimate creation of Sanskrit, based on great Indian text ‘Mahabharata’. He further said that Bharatmanjari is more relevant and utilitarian in present era as well.
On the occasion, Prof Mishra was felicitated with a memento and a Samman Patrika for getting Padamshri award. Prof Ved Ghai and Prof Hareram Tripathi were the Special Guests. Earlier, Prof Ram Bahadur Shukla, Head of Department and convener of the seminar presented welcome address.
The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr Pratibha while vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Sushma Devi.
Others present on the occasion included Prof Ramnika Jalali former HoD and Dean, Dr Vidyadhar Singh, Dr Satyapriya, Dr Priyanka besides a number of faculty members, students and scholars.
