JAMMU: Former Advisor to the Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Dr Ali Mohammad Mattoo, brother-in-law of former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah.
In his condolence message to Suraiya Abdullah, wife, Nyla Ali Khan, daughter and other members of the Mattoo family, Ganai recalled the services of Dr Ali Mohammad Mattoo as a medical doctor and health administrator. He also conveyed his condolences to Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah in their hour of grief.
Ganai expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for jannat-ul-firdous to the departed soul.
National Conference today expressed grief over the death of Ali Mohammad Mattoo, noted physician of the Valley and son-in-law of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
In a joint condolence message, senior National Conference leaders recalled the selfless service and contribution of Mattoo as a physician, saying he was religiously devoted to his profession.
They conveyed their condolences to Suraya Mattoo and the other bereaved members of the family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. They also expressed solidarity with the family as also Dr Farooq Abdullah, Dr Sheikh Mustaffa Kamal, Omar Abdullah and others at this hour of grief.
Besides Provincial President Devender Singh Rana, the signatories to the joint statement included Ajay Kr. Jammu Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari expressed deep shock and grief over the demise of Dr Mohammad Ali Matto, who passed away here after a prolonged illness.
In a statement issued here, Bukhari expressed solidarity with both Matto and Abdullah families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. “Late Dr Matto was a through gentleman and an embodiment of nobility, self-respect and loveliness,” Bukhari observed, while offering heartfelt condolences on behalf of his own family and JKAP to Matto and Abdullah families.
He said Dr Matto’s demise has created a void in his social circles hard to be filled in times to come. “I extend my condolences and solidarity to the bereaved family especially Suriya Matto, wife of the deceased and Dr Nyla Ali Khan the daughter of Late Dr Matto and pray to God to give endurance to them to bear this irreparable loss,” Bukhari remarked.
