UDHAMPUR: Garnering the mass support in marathon- A Run Against Drug Eviction, thousands of youngsters participated and vowed against drugs. Marathon starting from Jakhani to Rathian was organised at Udhampur Constituency to aware youth and common public against drugs. Being organised by Dogra Kranti Dal for the second time in Udhampur, near about 650 youth from every nook and corner of all wards of the city took part in it.
During the occasion, former MLA and Chief Patron Balwant Singh Mankotia was present.
Mankotia addressed the youth after the marathon and said that participation of such a large number of youth in this marathon for a war against drugs has set an example in the whole constituency and the state.
Mankotia congratulated locals and youngsters of the Udhampur city over the healthy participation and said that it is the start of war against drugs which will convey a message to the state as well as the whole country. Need to unite & work at ground level to make state drug free, he added
Mankotia appealed to youth and locals to make every person and home aware of drugs. They should take resolution to never touch such a life threatening thing.
Felicitation ceremony was also organised in which first prize of Rs 5,100 given to Akshay Sharma, second prize of Rs 3,100 to Sohan Singh and third prize of Rs 2,100 to Anil Kumar.
Scores of youth, locals including social activists Diwan Singh Sarpanch, Jagdev Singh Jagga, Sony Rathore, Shekhar Raina, Subash Singh, Romesh Atri, Gopal Sharma, Tarentar Singh were present during the occasion.
