SRINAGAR: The Director MeT Department on Wednesday said next 24-36 hours will be crucial for Kashmir Valley as western disturbance is persisting over J&K and by evening, its intensity might increase leading to more rainfall.
Talking to a Srinagar based news agency, MeT Director Sonum Lotus said that next 24 hours will be crucial in the sense that the intensity in the western disturbances may increase that could result in more rainfall. However, he was quick to add that there will be significant change in weather conditions after 36 hours. “I can tell you that next 24 to 36 hours are crucial. It is possible that there would be abrupt halt in the rainfallĀ but the western disturbances continue to persist over the State and by Wednesday evening, its intensity would possibly increase,” Lotus said.
He added that several hilly areas besides Kashmir Valley may witness moderate to heavy rainfall
