JAMMU: NPP Supremo, Prof Bhim Singh has welcomed the decision of Union Government to allow separate Provincial Secretariats to function simultaneously in Srinagar and Jammu Tawi, which was one of the most urgent and pending demands of Panthers Party.
Prof Singh said that Panthers Party, in its resolution at a National Convention held in August 2008 at Mavalankar Hall, New Delhi had passed a resolution demanding separate Secretariats for Kashmir and Jammu divisions throughout the year. It was one of the main proposals and stand taken by the Panthers Party in its election manifesto, he added.
NPP Supremo further said that the decision shall be one of needful facilities and will avoid extra expenditure of about Rs 12 crore per year, which could be spent on welfare schemes for neglected sections of J&K. He suggested that district leadership of NPP, both in Jammu as well as in Kashmir, should convey the message to every resident of Kashmir as well as Jammu that this move shall be highly beneficial for people of both the regions.
Balwant Singh Mankotia, President JKNPP also welcomed the decision of the Central Government and hoped that it will pave way for a constructive roadway for development of J&K as proposed by JKNPP.
