REASI: Over 1,18,982 pilgrims visited the famous Cave Shrine of Lord Shiva at Shiv Khori nested in Shivalik hills in Reasi District this year till March-2015, it was disclosed by Deputy Commissioner Reasi Sushma Chauhan, who is also the Vice Chairman of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board.
With adequate facilities put in place Shiv Khori Cave Shrine in Reasi is witnessing huge inflow of devotees she said adding that this fast emerging pilgrimage destination witnessed a huge influx of devotees during Maha Shivratri and the trend is expected to resume again with the beginning of the Amarnath Yatra-2015.
Chauhan informed that in the wake of continuing rains movement of the pilgrims is being continuously monitored along the Shiv Khori track. She added that the NH1C connecting Reasi with Shiv Khori which was affected by the landslides was immediately cleared by pressing men and machinery into action seeking the help of Border Roads Organization.
She further added that pilgrims could plan their pilgrimage as per their convenience and there was no difficulty, whatsoever, on any account in undertaking the Yatra.
Aghar Jitto, Noaun Pandian, Baba Dhansar, Deera Baba Banda Bahudur and Shiv Khori are the Holy Shrines, which have been developed to divert the maximum number of pilgrims of Vaishno Devi towards the interior of Reasi District, added DC.
After Vaishno Devi in Trikuta Hills of J and K, Shiv Khori is the only religious place which has been attracting devotees from all over the country. Keeping in view the natural beauty, topography and significance of the area, the board was also making all-out efforts to develop the place as a popular tourist resort with infrastructure for the visiting pilgrims. A number of development works have been taken up by the Shiv Khori Shrine Board to provide facilities to the pilgrims.
