JAMMU: Former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch Vikram Randhawa, on Sunday said that Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir have shown utmost discipline in following the guidelines of the administration to contain the spread of the virus.
Randhawa said this while distributing ration, masks, sanitizers and other eatables among the needy Muslim families of Gandhi Nagar assembly segment.
He said that as it was the holy month of Ramzan the Muslim brethren stayed indoors and offered prayers from their homes only which is an example of discipline.
He said that as all the religious places across the nation are closed to break the chain of spread of the novel coronavirus and in such circumstances, it is our moral responsibility to observe the guidelines of the administration so that we may come out of this pandemic soon.
He said that the religious places are the sources of beliefs for all religions but during pandemic and in the holy month of Ramzan the Muslim community in Jammu and Kashmir has set an example of discipline. The eatables were distributed among the poorest Muslim families who were not having anything to celebrate their Eid. He wished all the Muslim brethren a very happy and prosperous Eid.
