JAMMU: To mitigate problems of families who are facing hardships due to lockdown, a team of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Sunday distributed relief material among members of Muslim community at Residency Road. Speaking on the occasion, RSS Mahanagar Sanghchalak, Surender Mohan Gupta said, “During lockdown, all people will be provided ration and other essential commodities. RSS Swayamsevaks have intensified distribution of relief material in other areas of Jammu division also.” Gupta appealed to the public in general to come forward and contribute for poor by donating in account of Jammu Kashmir Sahyatya Samiti, A/c No. 10167775167, SBI, Kachi Chawani, Jammu, IFSC-SBIN0002374.
RSS Nagar Karyvah, Ajay Bharti said, “RSS never differentiate among communities, castes and creeds. Sangh always extends its helping hand towards needy citizens of the country, which is evident from the distribution of relief material among Muslim families, as they were also affected by the lockdown. We are always ready to serve the humanity.”
On fourth day, RSS distribution teams distributed relief material among poor and needy families in districts Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua, Reasi, Samba and Kathua. Swayam Sevaks distributed the relief materials among labourers of unorganizsed sector, Rehri and Phari-walas and others, who got most affected due to lockdown.
Ajay Bharti asked people to remain in their houses for breaking the chain of deadly virus. The work of sanitisation has also been started by Swayamsevaks in rural as well as urban areas. Seva Bharti Sankat Mochan Dal distributed biscuits and tea among security forces personnel, performing duties at different Naka points in city and outskirts.
