JAMMU: Rudhra of Sprawling Buds School, Chinore in Bantalab bagged Taekwondo gold in under-14 boys’ category in under-21 weight group on day-two of the annual inter-school (indoor) competitions of Jammu District, organised by Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
Second place in the same category went to Rashid Hussain of Government Middle School, Sitni Bye Pass, here.
Earlier, today’s competition, being held in as many as seven different events of under-14 and under-17 boys, was inaugurated by Joint Director, DYSS, Madan Lal. He was accompanied by District Officer Jammu, Sukhdev Raj. Two of these events, Slumbum and Thang-Tha are being held at Shastri Memorial Higher Secondary School, Subash Nagar.

TAEKWONDO: Under-14: U-21 kg: Rudhra Partap of Sprawling Buds, Ist and Rashid Hussain of GMS Sitni Bye Pass, 2nd. U-25 kg: Prayanshu Gupta of BSF Paloura, Ist and Ashish Sagotra of KV-2, 2nd. U-27 kg: Sadiq Hussain of GMS Sitni Bye Pass, Ist andSuryavansh of St. Franchis HSS, 2nd.U -29 kg: Rajeev of DPS Jammu, 1st and Mohd. Sharif GMS Sitni Bye Pass, 2nd.
UNDER-17: U-48 kg: Aryan Gupta of Shangrilla School, 1st and Harshdev Singh of APS Domana, 2nd. U-56 kg: Gourav of GHS Dogra Hall, Ist and Vishwajeet of APS Domana, 2nd.
The bouts were officiated by Varinder Sharma, Raman Sharma, Rajesh Bandral and Ravinder Singh.
SQUAY MARTIAL ARTS: Under-14: U-25 kg: Sunil Verma of New Jyoti HSS, 1st and Yogesh Singh of MRLD School, 2nd. U-29 kg: Sumit Kumar of New Jyoti of HSS, 1st and Rahul Thappa of MRLD School, 2nd. U-37 kg: Mohd. Karif of GMS Sitni Bye Pass, 1st and Vansh of MRLD School, 2nd. Aman Kumar and Diksha Devi were officials in this event.
WUSHU: UNDER-17: U-52 kg: Saksham of GD Goenka, 1st; Abhishek of St. Franchis, 2nd. U-56 kg:
