AKHNOOR: Siddhanth A defeated GD Goenka Public School by 19 runs and entered the semifinals from Pool B in the ongoing Second Col RN Chopra Challenge under-12 Cup, played here on Wednesday.
Batting first, Siddhanth A set a target of 136 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Chitwan Anil Swaraj made 33 runs while Jatinder and Jivtesh contributed 21 and 13 (not out) runs respectively. For GD Goenka, Piyush and Hriday took two wickets each.
Later, GD Goenka exhausted their quota of 20 overs for 107 runs losing eight wickets. Satyem Raina played superb innings of 39 runs but could not lead his side to victory. Pitamber (27) and Anish (16) were other main contributors to the total.
For Siddhanth, Shivang clinched three wickets while Karmanya took two.
