JAMMU: Prof R K Gupta, Vice Chancellor Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) of Jammu, with active support of all directors, deans, staff and students of the University is making all out efforts to strengthen Government of Jammu & Kashmir in fight against novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic through multiple approach.
SKUAST-Jammu has contributed one-day salary of its employees’ amounting to Rs 18.34 lakh towards COVID-19 J&K Relief Fund. “The guidelines and instructions issued by the government and various agencies from time to time are forwarded to staff and students for taking all preventing measures that have been made available on the University website and being publicised in print media. The names of the scientists, with contact details, have been made available for technical know-hows of stakeholders. Online academic activity is continuing in order to connect students and teachers through various virtual online tools for their classes, assignments and other related activities so that there is no academic loss due to lockdown,” a press release issued by the University said.
“All possible efforts are being made to carry out time bound scientific/ student research besides saving livestock and other elite germ-plasm and breeding material while adopting all preventive measures. Technical advisory is being provided to field functionaries and farmers of region for sustaining agriculture productivity and profitability in view of climatic variations and COVID-19 lockdown period for their safety,” it added.
