KATRA: The School of Physics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra organised an expert lecture by Prof. Dinesh Kr. Sharma, Faculty, Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, on ionosphere and its influence. Prof. Sharma explained that ionosphere is an important part of the Earth’s atmosphere, which plays an important role in the radio communication.
Further, he informed, the understanding, monitoring and forecasting changes in the ionosphere are of crucial importance to communications, navigation and the exploration of the near earth space. Dr. Vivek K. Singh, Senior Faculty, School of Physics, SMVDU was the Coordinator of the event. Moreover the lecture was attended by the students, researchers and faculty members. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Ashok K. Sharma, Head, School of Physics, SMVDU. The Head and the Coordinator both expressed their gratitude to Padam Shri Prof. (Dr.) R.K. Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU, for motivating them for organizing such activities.
