JAMMU: To act speedily in the fight against COVID-19, the Team Mask Force Chairman, Vijay Sharma has appealed to J&K UT Administration for enhancing pace of progress under Swasthya Nidhi survey in J&K UT.
Sharma further said, the District Magistrate Jammu, in a video-clip circulated on social media, has assured Jammuites that health audit of each and every individual shall be carried out to capture complete and accurate information for monitoring and keeping surveillance on real-time basis but hardly any such teams have moved in different localities. Had it been so, cases found in Gurah Bakshi Nagar would have been detected much earlier and harsh steps need not be taken with inhabitants of aforesaid area, he added.
Vijay Sharma added that result of such survey, if carried out, would be visible on record as it has been evident in case of District Udhampur, where Booth levels Awareness Groups (BAG) were constituted to perform door to door health Audit of all persons of district. As per AIR report, the data of 85,060 households and 4,24,524 persons has been gathered and loaded in Swasthya Nidhi App. No such data ever has been made available either to print media or electronic media in respect of District Jammu or other districts of J&K UT, he said.
Sharma further added that these groups should also inspire people for downloading Arogya Setu App launched by the Government of India.
e also appealed to general public for wearing masks and adhering to social distancing norms, which otherwise have been made punitive in many parts of country.
