JAMMU: Welcoming Apex Court’s order on 4G Internet network in J&K Team Mask Force Chairman, Vijay Sharma said that welfare and development of people is must but not at cost of precious human lives.
In a press statement issued here on Tuesday, Sharma said that Supreme Court’s direction for constituting three-member committee with Secretary Ministry of Home Affairs, Chief Secretary J&K and Secretary Ministry of Communications as members, to look into various aspects involving public interests both in light of education, healthcare and e-commerce in collaboration with J&K UT and submitting their report to the Apex Court within a time-bound period is appreciable.
“The order of Apex court is equally relevant in light of terrorism related incidents, resulting in martyrdom of our army and security forces personnel. The terrorism related incidents have sharply declined soon after abrogation of Article 370 & 35-A from J&K by the Union Government, after which restrictions were imposed on High-speed internet which otherwise was helpful for terrorists and their supporters for communicating with each other. Team Mask Force believes that we have to first of all look towards human aspects of life and then everything else,” he asserted.
As for containing spread of COVID-19, the Government imposed lockdown, with stern implementation on ground level, across the country, similarly it is the duty of all those sitting at the helm of affairs in J&K UT to think for utmost welfare of people, of course not at cost of precious human lives, and people should respect their decisions, he maintained.
