Ramban: At this point of time, the whole world is dealing with a pandemic and Police is one among the fighting soldiers on ground. But this doesn’t take away the basic duties/responsibilities they are meant for i.e., prevention and detection of crime and safety and security of life and property of the public.
Giving details of one such incident where illegal means were used to take away someone’s rightful property, SSP Ramban Haseeb ur Rehman told reporters that on April 7, 2020, one Mohd Naseem, son of Gull Mohd, resident of Ahama Khari reported at Police Post Khari that his Maruti Car (JK02AA 4429) has been stolen by some unknown person/s. After receiving the complaint, a case vide FIR No 59/2020 under section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation entrusted to Insp Ranjeet Singh Rao In-Charge Police Post Khari.
Acting swiftly, Investigating officer rounded up some suspects of the area and on their disclosure, one Shabir Ahmed, son of Sitar Lone, resident of Bhatebas Shagan was arrested from Nowgam Srinagar and interrogated. On his confession, the said vehicle has been recovered from Nowgam Srinagar.
The accused is habitual thief and some more recoveries are expected in coming days. The arrest and recovery has been made by Insp Ranjeet Singh Rao In-Charge Police Post Khari guided and assisted by Insp Aabid Bhukhari, SHO Police Station Banihal, under the supervision of DySP Ashish Gupta SDPO Banihal, under the close supervision of Sanjay Parihar Addl SP Ramban and overall supervision of Haseeb-ur Rehman SSP Ramban.
