KATHUA: In a major breakthrough, police arrested two persons alongwith vehicle in which they were carrying 550 Kg of poppy straw packed and hidden in apple boxes.
As per the details, a team of Police Station Rajbagh during routine Naka checking at NH near Police Station Rajbagh signalled a vehicle (HR45B-6574) which was coming from Jammu towards Lakhanpur. During the checking of said vehicle, 277 apple boxes were found loaded in it, out of which 55 cardboard boxes (Apple boxes) were found containing poppy straw @ 10 kg each, amounting to total 5 quintals and 50 kg Poppy straw were recovered. On this a case vide FIR No. 97/2020 under section 8/25 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Rajbagh and driver namely Balram, son of Dalip Singh and his associate namely Dinesh Kumar, son of Ram Krishan, both residents of Silla Kehri Tehsil Safdion District Jind (Harayana) were arrested.
